What we’re doing
From December 30, 2024 to January 13, 2025, there will be weeknight service changes on the lines and weekend service changes on the lines.
- During weeknights, December 30 to 31, 2024 and January 2 to 3 and 6-10, 2025:
- trains won’t run between 145 St and W 4 St-Washington Sq, and will run in two sections.
- trains won’t run between 145 St and 42 St-Bryant Park, and will run in two sections.
- Over the weekends of January 3-6 and 10-13, 2025:
- trains won’t run between 125 St and W 4 St-Washington Sq, and will run in two sections.
- trains won’t run at all.
- trains won’t run between 145 St and W 4 St-Washington Sq, and will run in two sections.

Why we’re doing it
We’re replacing switches at 59 St-Columbus Circle on the lines, which allow trains to move between the express and local tracks and the 8 Av and 6 Av lines. These switches, which were installed between 1976 and 1986, have reached the end of their useful lives and need to be replaced. New switches will enable us to deliver more reliable service to the over 500,000 riders who rely on these lines each day.

- Between Far Rockaway-Mott Av and W 4 St-Washington Sq, on the to/from 63 St/Lexington Av, and on the to/from 96 St.
- shuttle trains will run normally between Euclid Av and Ozone Park-Lefferts Blvd.
- For service between 145 St and 59 St-Columbus Circle, use nearby stations.
- Transfer at 168 St or Fulton St .
- Free shuttle buses will also run between 145 St and 96 St , making local stops.
- When exiting the subway at 145 St or 96 St , get a GO Ticket from a station agent to re-enter.
- For service between 50 St and W 4 St-Washington Sq, take the .

- Between Inwood-207 St and 125 St, skipping 135 St in both directions, every 12 minutes during the day and evening.
- Between Far Rockaway-Mott Av or Ozone Park-Lefferts Blvd and W 4 St-Washington Sq and on the to/from 42 St-Bryant Park.
- trains will make local stops between 168 St and 145 St and between W 4 St-Washington Sq and Euclid Av all weekend.
- For service between 125 St and 59 St-Columbus Circle, use nearby stations.
- Free shuttle buses will also run between 145 St and 96 St , making local stops.

- Transfer between and trains at 14 St. trains will stop at the platforms at 14 St.
- For uptown service:
- Take the to 14 St and transfer to an uptown train.
- Take the to 135 St, and transfer to the M2 bus one block west on Adam C. Powell Blvd to 168 St.
